18th Century Fair
On Saturday we went to a 18th Century Trade Fair at Fair Lawn Farm in Monterey, VA. They had people there representing different trades. They had some horners, someone spinning wool, a blacksmith, and some other interesting things. They had food sold by the local Amish. People were dressed in period dress. The peddler gave us a magazine of a period clothing seller called Townsends. Some of the outfits cost around $1,000!
After we left the Fair we went to Hannah Field. We were going to stay and watch fireworks at the Monterey Fair but we decided to leave because they started so late. A reader said they were glad we didn’t stay for mediocre fireworks.
