Contrary to the subtitle, it was really enjoyable! A week or two ago we went to the JMU Mineral Museum in the basement of the student activities center. Dad knew where the building was but we had issues finding the room. If we followed the signs we would have found it the first try, but what’s the fun in using a map!

After we located it back a hall in the basement, we enjoyed. For what it’s worth, entrance is free. Composed of only one and a half rooms, it is a rather small museum but if it were much bigger it might be more boring. To explain the one and a half rooms, there was a big room with most of the collections and then a small room off the back with fluorescent specimens. They had some gorgeous rocks. They had one case dedicated to gems from Virginia which was cool.

We went especially because they had a new exhibit about meteorites. Some were even local!
