Pigeon Forge 2024
We went to Pigeon Forge with my grandparents this weekend. Our school was off on Friday for a teacher’s workday and we have shop Thursday afternoons so we left Thursday around lunch. It took around 5 hours to get there so we got there around six. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and Suites. We have stayed in them before and we really like them. They are clean, have a nice layout, and have a good breakfast. For supper Thursday evening we ate at Bennet’s Pit BBQ. The weird truck thing in the middle of the video is a nitrogen truck.
On Friday we went to Bass Pro. This seems really whatever but this one has two stories and a glass elevator so that is fun. After that we went to Smoky Mountain Knife Works. We stopped at some thrift stores. We ate at Tony Gore’s. They had huge portions. We also went to the Old Mill District and watched them do things like throw pottery and do blacksmithing. We ate supper at Cheddars which is a national chain. We ate at one in Kentucky and found out we like them and have tried to eat at them when close. I think it’s kinda funny because we say eat local and then eat at chains but I don’t really care.
On Saturday we went to Cade’s Cove. On the way there we stopped at a chainsaw carving shop along the side of the road. We drove through Cade’s Cove which has some pretty old buildings. Cade’s Cove is an 11 mile loop with old buildings and wildlife. We also rode The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200 feet tall Ferris wheel. When we got back Mom, my grandparents, and I stayed at the hotel while my dad and sister went mini golfing. We ate at Huck Finn’s Catfish for supper.
We came home on Sunday. We ate breakfast at The Old Mill which is an old mill which they converted into a restaurant. It has a really cool vibe.
Overall, we had a lot of fun on this trip but it is good to be back home.
